About Inspired

Hi, my name is David Soper. I'm inspired by the Word of God and enjoy sharing my inspiration with others.

My Family

About the Blog:

Inspired by the Word of God, started in the summer of 2008, is a blog containing the Scripture Reflections I initially began writing for the Men's Breakfast Fellowship, a ministry of Palm Valley Church.  Each reflection contains a Bible reading followed by a short devotional study that is meant to challenge and inspire people to grow spiritually.   New Inspirations are posted about every two weeks. To automatically be notified of new Inspirations simply subscribe to email notification or RSS feed.

About my life:

Married since 1992, my wife, Connie, and I are the proud parents of three canines, Sonny, Oscar and Happy. We are both from the midwest, Michigan and Illinios, and now live near the Mexican border in McAllen, Texas.

We are active members of Palm Valley Church, a dynamic, growing, Christ centered fellowship here in the Rio Grande Valley, where Connie and I are the directors of Small Groups ministries. I also serve on the Board of Directors for PVC. We love living in deep south Texas and belonging to the PVC family.

Here in deep south Texas I am also privileged to serve on the Board of the World Radio Network, which has 14 Christian radio stations along the US-Mexico border from Texas to California.

Before moving to Texas, we were blessed to be part of Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, where we served as small group leaders and coaches.  Prior to that Connie and I attended Willow Creek Community Church, which is where we met in 1991, the year she became a born-again Christian.

My educational background is Engineering (Michigan Technological University) and Theology (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School). I continue to work in the business world as an IT Executive while actively serving in ministry.

My favorite leisure activities are enjoying family time, golf, and gardening. My ministry passions are Biblical teaching and building Christian community which I enjoy pursuing with Connie, my best friend and ministry partner.

About the name "Inspired by the Word of God":

The name comes from a favorite song of ours. "Inspired.. by the Word of God", was recorded by Grace and Glory of JPUSA in Chicago. It came out in 1996, and one of our good friends, Angel Harold was a member of the Grace and Glory choir that recorded this album.

May you be inspired by the Word of God,

David Soper
